The challenge was issued is 2016 to local artists by Good Bean Coffee of Jacksonville, Oregon:  Create an angel using your media.  I machine pieced 4 log Cabin blocks in colors of an Alaskan midnight and joined them to form the background.
The angel, trees, bear, and star were hand appliquéd to the background.  Finally I embroidered her unruly hair using chain stitches.  She requested red hair, more on the strawberry blond hews.
It hung in the Good Bean Coffee angel show with thirty other pieces.  Then it took a turn being displayed in the Members Gallery at Rogue Gallery Art Center in Medford, Oregon.  Soon after that, it was air-lifted to
 Denali National Park and Preserve
where you may catch up with it there.
Ask Denice if you can see it.

Here is the angel I made for the 2017 Good Bean Coffee Display

This little lady was inspired by another quilter.  Since hanging out with several other angels last December at Good Bean Coffee Angel Show, Hope stays connected to my wall at home in Jacksonville, Oregon.  Every now and then she gets displayed in a local quilt show or gallery.  This is the disguise she wears in public to spread Hope without being noticed.  I wonder what she really looks like...
 Hope has been shown at

Berryman Gallery at Rogue Valley and Art Center Medford, Oregon

Hope has been re-homed in a private collection.

This is a hand-quilted fabric collage that features an original portrait line drawing that I hand appliqued and embroidered.  I enjoyed working on this one with whimsical creatures and bright colors.

This is the drawing that I used to create the line embroidery that I appliqued on the finished.

Desert Song has been on display at the Berryman Gallery at
Rogue Gallery and Art Center in Medford, Oregon
June 1 to July 24, 2018.
Art Presence Art Center, Jacksonville, OR.
It is currently in my studio collection.

Paragliders

Paragliders, April 2017, Oceanside, Oregon

Second attempt to launch a paraglider above Oceanside Beach,
Three Arch Rocks monolith shown in background.
Saturday Night April 22, 2017

Third attempt was successful, but a side-wind carried the gliders into spectators watching from sidelines and swept everyone over the cliff into shrubbery.
After everyone got untangled, damage assessment was made to equipment and people.  The launch was aborted and one person was transported to Tillamook County Hospital.
